In Memory of Byron “Butch” Simms

It is with deep sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Byron “Butch” Simms, a devoted member of our hockey family, former President, and longtime member of our Board of Directors of the Port Perry Jr. C Hockey Club.

Butch’s commitment to our organization spanned many years, and his contributions reached far beyond the boardroom. As President, he led with integrity, vision, and a genuine passion for community hockey. He gave his time generously, shared his knowledge willingly, and worked tirelessly to ensure generations of young players had the opportunity to enjoy the game in a positive, supportive environment in Port Perry.

On behalf of our entire organization, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Butch’s family and friends. We are grateful for his years of leadership, and his countless contributions to Jr. C Hockey in Port Perry.

 

In Memory of Anne Marie Taillon

It is with deep sadness that the Port Perry LumberJacks family acknowledges the passing of Anne Marie Taillon on May 27, 2026.

Anne Marie was a cherished staple at the local arena for many years, serving as our dedicated Secretary Board of Directors and Game Day Scorekeeper alongside her husband and announcer, Guy. Her warmth, vibrant spirit, homemade baked goods and dedication to the LumberJacks hockey club has left a lasting mark on our players, staff, and fans.

We extend our deepest condolences to her husband Guy, her children Leo, Rory, Shanna, and Paul, her grandchildren Olivia, Logan, and Rowan, and the entire Taillon and Taylor family.
